55: Notes To Self

German Castle, Microdose On Life, Thoughts On Truth, Fight For Silence, Don't Lie To Yourself

Yo, it’s Luke!

Feeling extra philosophical in this one. Hope you like it!

That said, here is your weekly dose of 5 noteworthy ideas & things I learned about last week. Click on each link to dive further on that topic.

This makes me want to carve out a few months to go around Europe just looking at castles. I mean come ON!

Generational comments in this one. Here’s some of my favorites:

  • Take a friend out for dinner who's having a hard time and listen to them.

  • Think back to your fondest memories as a child.

  • Sit with old people and really listen to them.

  • Night sky, new moon, no clouds, dark zone.

  • Make a new friend and go on an adventure.

  • Go for a run at golden hour.

  • Don't eat until tomorrow.

  • Hang out with a baby.

How many can you do this week?

3. On Truth (Luke’s Thoughts)

Approach life with a sense of openness and curiosity, questioning assumptions and beliefs to uncover deeper truths beyond the limitations of dogma and ideology.

That is where “God” lies.

Where the rich life finds its foundation.

And where your authenticity springs from.

On a related note…

C.S. Lewis once said “the melodies and silences of Heaven will be shouted down in the end.”

Silence matters, don’t let the world steal that from you.

Find moments of silence, protect them fiercely. The “Devil” fills the world with noise to prevent you from finding out what really matters. Take the airpods out. Take a long walk. Get out of the city. Sit alone with your thoughts.

This is such a damn good quote.

To be honest, I’m guilty of lying to myself far too often. It's easy to invent offenses, to exaggerate slights, to embrace a sense of victimhood that feels almost pleasurable. The man who lies to himself loses his compass—respect, love, truth all slip away.

It’s brutal source of growth. But a necessary one.

Hope it resonates!
