60: Notes To Self
Fun Fun Fun, Sweep Your Mind, Big Adventures, Revolutionaries, Be Unbotherable
Yo, it’s Luke!
I didn’t consume much content this week, so you’re getting what I wrote in my notebook. My literal “Notes To Self”
Hope you like ‘em :)
1. Whoever Has The Most Fun, Wins
Fitness and health is a constant cat & mouse game of keeping things fun.
If you can trick your brain into having fun, you win.
If you can recognize when your commitment is faltering, and make it more fun, you win.
2. Sweep Your Mind
“What areas of my life have I not done a proper inspection of recently?”
A nice sweep keeps the mind uncluttered.
Along the way, notice thought patterns or actions that aren’t serving you.
And let them go.
3. What Are My Big Adventures This Year?
I’ve got 2 (Yosemite + Alaska). But have room for a few more.
What would be a “hell yea!” week or weekend to look back on?
Good food for thought.
4. Revolutionaries Hit The Library
To break a system, you must know how it works and why it came to be.
If you want to fix politics, but haven’t read John Locke…you should hit the library.
If you want to fix healthcare, but don’t know how lobbying really works…you should hit the library.
If you want to fix systemic racism, but don’t know how Jim Crowe laws transitioned to the modern day…you should hit the library.
Study the root cause to fix the current issue.
5. Be Unbotherable
Is it possible to choose not to be bothered…ever?
Anything that would’ve been “annoying” no longer controls you.
Probably not completely unbotherable.
But there’s some people that are pretty damn good.
I’d like to be one of those people.
Thanks for wanting to know more today than you did yesterday! If you liked this edition, send it over to a friend who would like it too 🤝
Cheers,
